Continue this thread level 1 iHaveRedBlueFlashies 1 point 6 months ago edited 6 months ago How do I find my OWA site Edit: Once I enabled ActiveX, there was no icon go turn off ActiveX by the URL bar.It worked for me Im still getting the Message could not be retrieved errors when trying to open encrypted emails, but at least my SMIME is actually showing as installed now in Webmail settings.I had it installed and updated.) Post (and source link) follows below: I had posted a response to a question about this topic back in April 2017 and since the post is locked, I wanted to pass on some updated information for those that me require it.Im posting those same steps as before but have added an additional step which is to install the latest DoD Root Certificates.
S Mime Windows 10 Using IEI resolved this issue with opening digitally signed and encrypted emails with OWA on Windows 10 using IE 11 by performing the following steps. S Mime Download The InstallRootDownload the InstallRoot utility from DISA IASE and install the latest DoD Root Certificates. Click the gear icon located on the top right corner of the browser. Select Safety menu and then turn on ActiveX Filtering by selecting it. Select security, trusted sites, and then click the sites button. Add the URL of your OWA to the trusted list. If you have issues sending emails, you may need to add an underlying URL, like. This step was not required for me, but may be required for others. At the top of the URL bar, you should see a circle with a diagonal line through it. If you dont do this for the OWA site, you will not be able to download, or use SMIME. Verify SMIME is installed by going to the OWA options, see all options, settings, SMIME. Download and install if required, otherwise you should see the two checkboxes for sign and encrypt. A final step if you are still having issues would be to add site to your compatibility view options. After performing all of these steps, close your browser and reopen for changes to take effect. I added.af.mil to trusted sites and set trusted sites Security Level (slider) to the lowest possible security zone (low). I suspect if you do that your encrypted emails will start working. Do that, along with the install tips on the original post, and you should have good luck. Thanks a bunch Continue this thread level 1 2 points 7 months ago Shouldnt be this damn hard level 1 1 point 7 months ago I dont really trust any of these fixes anymore. The OWA team posted instructions a couple of days ago and everything worked fine. So, do we change our configuration every day with the new fix, or just say fuck it level 1 1 point 7 months ago How are you guys even getting into your email Have been trying for like 5 days now, trying multiple browsers and keep getting an error screen after inputting my pin. If you are still having issues you may have locked out your CAC and will need to have it reset.
